Five Dollar Shake

by Barry Lewis

Ingredients

1 medium banana (peeled)
1 tsp vanilla extract
300ml clotted cream ice cream (1.5 cups)
200ml natural yoghurt (1 cup)
250ml whole milk (1.25 cups)
2 tbsp clear honey
5 cubes of ice (roughly!!)
Pinch of salt
1 cherry
squirty cream

In this video I am joined by Keith who shows me how to make a five dollar shake recipe inspired from the movie pulp fiction. I’m not sure if this is the real deal but Keith told me the ingredients to get and it tasted fantastic!

The scene in the movie pulp fiction sums it up well, John Travolta (Vincent) asks Uma Thurman (Mia) why she paid five dollars for a milkshake…. then he drinks it! This milkshake was delicious with a really lovely fresh kick to it that any homemade milkshake brings.

Simply chuck all of the ingredients into a blender and whizz away until smooth, top with some freshly chilled squirty cream and stick a cherry in it (complete with stalk) for good measure. Keith absolutely loved this recipe and I managed to have a cheeky taste too and was blown away by how good it was. Normally I am not a fan of banana milkshakes, but the other ingredients and flavours in here really ramped it up and would definately have made the pulp fiction five dollar shake proud.

I hope you give this a try and if you are after more movie food, check out my chilled monkey brains recipe from indiana jones and the temple of doom
